Overview
The USB-MIDI-R8 provides eight volt free contact relay outputs with a current rating of up to 8A that can be controlled using MIDI. The relays are SPCO (Single Pole Change Over) types, with the normally open, normally closed and common pins are all available on the screw terminals.
The module is powered from a 12vdc supply which can be regulated or unregulated and can either be supplied to the DC jack, or at the screw terminal next to it. The DC input jack is 2.1mm with positive core polarity. DC supplies are required to supply at least 500mA at 12vdc.
It is supplied in a case with an integrated din rail mounting clip, and eyelets for wall mounting. The lid of the case has LED indication for power, data, and each relay power state.
USB MIDI
![]() |
The USB-MIDI-R8 can be controled from most modern Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs) via its USB port, and is class compliant so requires no drivers. Once pluggen in and powered the module should appear as a standard midi device. Note and CC messages that are received via the USB port |
Din MIDI
For applications that use a traditional DIN midi interface there are MIDI In, and Thru ports. The DIN MIDI input can not be used at the same time as the USB MIDI function, and the input port will be deactivated while a usb cable is plugged in.
