Overview
The USB-RLY16l provides 8 volt free contact relay outputs with a current rating of up to 16Amp each. The relays are latching SPCO (Single Pole Change Over) types, and provide position 0, position 1 and common pins (latching relays and have no "normally open" or "normally closed" contacts) on the screw terminals labelled as 0, C and 1 accordingly.
Unlike conventional relays latching relays do not need a constant source of current to maintain their current possition, and as such will also retain their state when power is removed. This makes them the perfect in situations where a high level of energy efficience is needed, and where state may need to be maintained even in the event of a power loss.
The module is powered by the USB port meaning that no secondary power supply is needed to switch the relays, or power the module.
