Overview

The ETH1620 provides 20 volt free contact relay outputs with a current rating of up to 16Amp each, and 16 analogue inputs.

The module is powered from a 12vdc supply which can be regulated or unregulated. The DC input jack is 2.1mm with positive core polarity, DC supplies are required to supply at least 1A at 12vdc.

The relays are SPCO (Single Pole Change Over) types. The normally open, normally closed and common pins are all available on the screw terminals.

The relays on the  ETH1620 can be controlled from the inputs on the ETH484 or another ETH1620. This offers the opportunity to construct a system where an input can control an output anywhere on the earth provided both locations are connected to the network/internet.

Free Android and Phone Apps are available to remotely control this module.

Snubber option

Optional integrated snubbers can be added to the board between the common and normally open poles. When inductive loads are to be used the snubbers suppress the switching spikes and relay arc associated with such loads.

Examples of inductive loads that need an RC snubber would be:

  • motors
  • solenoids
  • relays (where the coil is driven as a load from the first relay)

With inbuilt support for MQTT our ETH range on modules are compatible with, and easily integrated into many existing industrial, and household control systems.

The modules can publish certain status messages such as a power up message, or a heartbeat to a topic.

All of the I/Os on the modules can also subscribe, or publish, to a topic to control or monitor its state.

With the ability to send email notifications on input state changes via an outgoing email server it is easy to keep up to date with your systems activity. 

Browser based configuration

Our ETH series modules all feature a simple, and comprehensive, browser based configuration and control interface.

There is no extra software you need to download to get started, simply point your browser at your modules IP address and begin configuring and controlling your module.

With the modules set to connect to a network via DHCP by default it could not be easier to get going. Just plug in the power and network cables and you are ready to go.
